The Web of Things

We in the UK, or do I call it Great Britain, or England, or the land of the Xenophobes, are accustomed to being led around sheep like and being told by the Media what is right and wrong. However, since the Brexit debacle no one is really sure what is going on.

We do know that we have yet another unelected Prime Minister and one who should not be underestimated at any costs. She will make dear old Maggy appear like our cuddly old aunt in comparison.

We have long ago given up on civil liberties and accept intrusive surveillance as the norm. As our web browsers and smart phones hoover up vast amounts of data every second so the next big thing to be wary of now is the "Web of Things". Things talking to each other; smart phones, smart buildings, smart roads, smart machines and the cloud. "So what?" people cry? Well in 10 years time when AI is here, the AI will have more and more complex ways to sift and sort this data until we are marked from the day we are born. We will be assessed as risks through out our life, we will be marked as rebels, potential threats, terrorists, fundamentalists until we will be killed pre birth for the crimes we are likely to commit.

Go off grid, dont use phones, avoid city centres, live in a cave, communicate throught safe drops except you will not be able to do the most simple of things. Because everything will be smart, you must have a phone or an email account. But what if i dont want one?

This isnt an Orwellian foretold future - it is a parallel reality that no one fore saw.

And how have we, on earth, allowed this to happen; where Trump can seem moderate, where bombing hospitals is acceptable, where people kill with impunity, where global inequality is exponentially growing, where half the food we produce is wasted, where rain forests are destroyed to clear ground so that soya can be grown and fed to cows. Where the climate is so messed up people put it down as seasonal variation. Where Population growth is so out of control.

Fundamentalism isnt the great threat that the media want you to think it is. The biggest threat is us as a collective. Where we celebrate celebrity and mediocraty and banaliity. Except at the Olympics. But what is Brasils legacy - social cleansing to create stadiums no one will ever use again?

The sun is out, Im of out for a stroll and to be watched...

History Repeating

My god does nothing ever change?

The Olympics is a welcome change from the drivel that the media has been pumping out of late - It is seven weeks since 'Brexit' and my cash savings are worth nothing - I am disinvesting from the UK and will be shortly setting myself up as a company in the Caribbean, where the best runners live.

Funny how since I last ranted, Honest Dave became PM and then threw it all away by asking the proles what they thought on Europe. They in turn said that Europe is bad because of the Dragons and Wolves and the bad things that happen there. One thing is for sure, there will never be another referendum on anything ever again. And now we have Iron Lady II. So time to say goodbye to all civil liberties.

The Middle East is still in chaos, or rather Syria / Iraq are - Chilcott came and went, Blair was vilified and let off the hook. ISIS are still enemy #1 despite more people dying in car crashes. The NRA still don't believe guns kill people. Or White cops kill black teenagers. The news media is now so dumbed down with so many half truths people cant even be bothered to understand anything anymore.

And Jeremy. The voice of the University Socialists.

And like Jason Bourne. I'm back.
